Unique. Clever. Witty. Humorous. Realistic. Profane. This story is all of this and more. The plot is unique. I've never seen this story line used before, but it works quite well. Clever, yes, because it twists and turns, moves up and down, flows into a very human emotion. What do you do when the person you have discarded starts a new relationship? This sets up the multiple readings readers will have, as each reader brings their own personal history, likes and dislikes, morality and values and personal viewpoints to the story. No two people will read this book the same way.
Witty and humorous, yes. I guarantee this book will have many a laugh out loud moment in store for you. Realistic, yes, because we all can relate to this story. Many of us have experienced a variation of this story in our own lives, so yes, it is realistic. And the profanity is metaphorically and symbolically there to remind us that in a perfect world, this story would not need to be told. Since our world isn't perfect, the linguistic use of profanity, in my opinion, makes this book what it ought to be, a reflective tool to make us think about our own relationships. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for adults only. Under 18 should hang on to their innocence as long as possible. I was fortunate to receive a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.
